has anyone else had a similar experience with their bose setup?any ideas much appreciated!
the setup is Avan bose system with symphony stereo & multi changer
the rear drivers side speaker is practically silent, I can only hear it if I turn all the gain to that speaker and wind the volume up, even then it is extremely tinny and the other speakers are still louder!
I have changed the amplifier and this hasnt helped.
I dont see how the speaker can have just stopped working when I dont give it any 'abuse' or are these known to stop working? I havent ever opened the door (removed door card) so dont think that it could have just unplgged itself.
Vagcom hasnt brought up any fault codes for the stereo, can there still be a problem with an output and it not show up?

RE: bose stereo problem!
Sounds like the speaker has blown (no pun intended) .... just test with another speaker (speakers can die easily - whether you've given them abuse or not)

Would Vagcom actually show a fault code for a faulty part of the stereo system?

RE: bose stereo problem!
well I do get some kind of message on the display of the stereo when I use VAGcom so I assumed it was checking it. I think it also sends a test tone to each speaker, but not sure on that one!
