If mine go bang maybe I'll be taking a short holiday in Ireland ;)

I've not seen K04's for a grand for a pair, more like 2K. Anyone able to point me in the direction of these i'd be happy :)

You lot must be paying the most for S4 Turbo swaps on the planet then, thats madness.
I rang 6 places across the country (Ireland), I could have got it from EUR600 to EUR1100 and the EUR1100 was the "we arent that interested, but if you pay us extra" we will do it price. I told them what it involved, approx time taken (6-12hrs is frequently quoted on AW etc) and told them I was suppling new Turbos and stock (used) manifolds. Some of the (Audi Garages and the specialist) have preset labour costs for this exact job (as its a standardised VAG procedure), in those cases I was openly recommending they quote higher rates than the paper value!

I would suggest taking out warranty cover for approx £38 per month which covers the Turbos.

That way your be covered if the worst ever happened!

$2.2K will work out about £1150 plus then with import duty that will be upto ~£1.4K. Not a bad price

when people quote £3K+ most are doing the full package:-

New turbos
inlet pipes
oil feeds
injectors
fuel pump
remap

and of course... labour

I've heard they are getting thin on the ground now. Seems to be what people are saying on Audizine anyways...

Be hard to get a warranty for that money on a car the age of ours and mileage creeping up.

Also doubt they would touch a modded car

So, as a budget repair.

K03's reconditioned by turbo technics, £200 per turbo.

£500 to swap them, £900 all in?

My warranty covers me for upto £1k of any mechanical damage - including the turbos and it costs me £200 per year. It also allows me to have after market items fitted :)
01 RS4, Milltek, Dahlback Racing rears, RS6 fronts and a few bits to be added.

Also, as I hate driving, my toy to play with - a Honda CBR F Sport

Be sure your remap is covered...mine wasn't and the Warrenty company refused to pay for the KO3 replacement.

I would save money from a warranty and put it towards a repair bill if needed.
