Where to buy ? - RS4 Bumper

Post by s4lover » Sun Jan 21, 2007 9:52 pm

Where's the best place to buy an rs4 front bumper etc from ?
(e.g. the cheapest).

p.s. I spoke to Achtung and they won't ship into uk
(but they also said they don't actaully modify their bumpers)

yep vag parts (I don't like the look of the fibreglass copies).

I'll do some part number hunting for all the components,
it would be good to compile a list of all the bits needed to make the conversion.

:D

You do realise that the RS4 bumper needs modifying as it is around 2 inches wider due to the flaired arches on the RS4!!

Not on my S4 but did on my A4 1.8T. The rieger RS4 replica is a quality item, you need to use your existing crash bar with it though, or source one from the scrappy.

The part number is 8D0807103T GRU bumper primed £379.90 from your dealer.

Then you have to add the air guides, front grills at around £95 for the three. Also the caps for the headlight washers.

And the front bumper mounts are longer on the RS4 but I think you can modify the S4 ones with a few additional washers.
Clive H is your man for the full description of how it is done. I think he and shineydave did a write up...

ive got an reiger on mine looks right fits well. 230squid! Have seen original RS bumpers and they do look better if fitted correctly, if its fitted poorly looks cack! And the fibre glass ones r very poor.

Woody - you are the dog man, you are the dog :D
(I've been watching too much American Idol while I should have been doing bumper conversions).

S4lover, not withstanding s4woody's generous offer - I would bite his hand off(!) also not mentioned yet is eBay.de as they do come up every now and then and you can get them complete / all the parts you will need in one go.

I have done the OEM RS4 bumper install to S4 (twice actually), and here is my installation: http://www.valitalo.org/rs4_bumper.htm The second time was easier, I just had to widen the fenders;)
