The Law

Post by SteveH » Sun Jan 21, 2007 2:05 pm

Went mountain biking in sherwood forest this morning (lots of trees blocking the routes and the downhill circuits); two mountain bikes in the boot no problem, anyway;

Driving back, wide country road, spirited driving... Look in my rear view mirror and on the brow of the hill in the distance the law has his blues alight and overtaking a lot of cars at pace heading right for me. :( Gutted, although I hadn't driven discourteously I may have gone a little over the speed limit :sekret:

Thought I was going to be given "Constructive Criticism", but to my delight he turned off the road as he was not gunning for me... :D A bit too close for comfort though :oops:
Present:...

Had a close one on the way up to Scotland before Xmas on the M6 in Cumbria, which annoyed me after the initial relief had passed.

Got caught in some traffic and had noticed a car getting a bit too close behind for comfort. When the traffic was starting to clear, checked the mirror again and the same car was still there but fortunately noticed the 'POLICE' sign across his bonnet, and pulled into the next gap in the middle lane. I am guessing he was expecting me to accelerate away when the traffic cleared, and to provoke me into doing so by sitting so close. Either way he didn't look too happy when he started to come past - pulled level, glared, and drove away one down on his ticket count.

It's them following at an unusually long distance on the motorway that I find their usual trick and giveaway to their presence.

Think he was hoping my rear windscreen was too dirty to notice - was lucky if I could see much the whole trip.
