Considering B6 S4 Avant 4.2

Impending fatherhood means the lotus has to go - i'm looking to replace it with something more practical.

I'm looking at buying an S4 avant. What should I look out for? I've done a search on this forum and not found anything other than rattly startup from cold could indicate problems...

Anything else I should be checking?

Anyone want to buy an elise?

I purchased an 06 B7 S4 Avant at the end of November 2006 - Came from an Impreza STI which I loved but due to having 2 kids (which the Subaru transported more than adequetly) and a daft Labrador I decided to change to an estate.

I was a bit concerned at first as I didn't want to lose too much performance but I had to change as the dog was trying to escape from the boot and ruining the lavish upholstery !

Anyway to cut a long story short - I am over the moon with my purchase. Build quality is in a different league, the interior is superb and if anything I'd say it's quicker than my Impreza.
The only downside is the fuel economy (not much worse than the impreza) but heh the kids will have to do witout new shoes for a while !!

I've searched the web but I don't see much in the way of issues to look out for, which i suppose is a good thing..

Can't afford a B7, but i think a B6 is fantastic value for money at less than 20k. MPG not really an issue as this will be a second car.
