S4 2.7 pricing

Post by TurkS4 » Tue May 27, 2003 11:16 am

Heads up.

Looks like thew Audi dealers are dropping their prices for the 2.7 model substantially (Audi.co.uk). Looks to be in the region of £3000 on average....damn mother feckers.

I suppose to be expected with the new S4 on our door step.

Interesting, but unwelcome

What examples have you ?

I ask because I went to trade my S4 against an RS4 in February and they offered me very silly money indeed, which I took as an indication that the dealer(s) did not want B5 S4's on their books with the new B6 S4's arriving.

Just take a look on the audi site at used cars, Imola Yellow S4 Avants seem to be dropping really really quick.

Do you have any reference points to base this on ? e.g. specific car(s) for sale with dealers 3k higher a month ago than now ?

DavidT....There are no specific cars as such, but I was hunting for a low mileage S4 for some time (6 months or so) and was regularly logging onto Audi.co.uk (as these cars were leaving the showroom just as quickly as they arrived).

For a 25k miles 2000 S4 saloon they were asking between 22k - 23k

For 30k mile 1999 model they were asking 20k - 22k. Non leather seats were around a grand cheaper.

The price they are asking for a 2000 29.5k miler now is £19k with leather...unwelcome news for all including myself (just purchased one a few months ago), but people need to know.

Blame Top gear for saying the S4 beat the M3 by a second round a track...or we could ask everyone not to buy the new S4 which would push our residuals up again!!!

Cheers

It's a pretty big drop for a few months. I wonder if the prices will be level for longer to compensate or keep falling from the new reduced levels ?

The drop must be because of the new car but it seems strange when you think new is roughly double what an old model can be had for. i.e. different sets of people buying each.

Makes you wonder if Audi have decided not to have any old cars with the dealers now the new car is here.

Hi Pds....the dealers do tend to take the piss. Buy your car off you at their book price of £16k, then stick it on their forecourt at a hugely inflated price, offering a whole years warranty, oh and the do a good job in cleaning it as well....told a couple of them to feck off when they quoted me their book price for my 2.8 quattro in part ex for their inflated S4's.

Come July i bet the dealers will only offer you the bottom price of £15k or even lower seeing how the prices are currently heading...

I'm ranting now, but a bit of a sore subject regarding Dealers...always trying to rip the bolloxs off of you!!
