Help to pin point noise please?

Post by h8cak » Wed Jan 10, 2007 9:55 pm

Im after some help guys......... After a visit to woddys house recently it was pointed out that my 98 S4 had a dodgy bearing noise coming from the front of the engine on the right hand side (pass side) It was suggested that it was possibly a water pump or belt tensioner. Over xmass i had my mate change the following, Water pump, Cambelt tensioner, Idler & Alternator belt tensioner. Guess what......The noise is still there? Any suggestions? :?

It could possibly be the air con compressor bearings. Had mine go on an older WRX a few years back and the noise was audible inside the car aswell as out!!
