MRC front mount cooler

Post by MarkB » Mon Jan 08, 2007 4:16 pm

I see MRC's website has been updated

£850 for the front mount cooler, not a bad price. If I had the money and didn't have RS4 coolers to go on I'd be saving for one...

I see the Yellow disco is featured ;) Nice one Leon :)

Uses horizontal runners which I find a little strange.

This seems a better design to me but then, what do I know? ;-)

The car is the one with the intercooler and the image blends into one with the bumper on.

I think you are being a bit harsh there! ;-). I think the frontal area looks
a bit bigger than 2 combined RS4 IC's. The MRC one does look like it has
a larger frontal area.

Vertical tubes 'should' reduce the pressure drop across the core - which
means the turbo shouldn't have to work so hard to produce the same
manifold pressure which means lower temps into the IC.

From reading another thread yes, just not enough clearance for the pipes otherwise.
