IIRC you spray it on and need to wipe off. To be honest, its mainly for removing oil/dirt, which I doubt is the cause of your rumbling....

PS I like the sound of your Elise, is that a Fireblade lump with supercharger?

I'm guessing its the Civic Type R Engine, one of the top Engine transplants for an Elise haven't heard of supercharger on it though, can also fit the Audi TT Engine (or like Eski the RS4 Engine  )

Don't forget the inner pads wear faster than the outer so you need to take the wheels off to be sure all is OK

The Elise engine is a Civic Type R engine with a Rotrex intercooled Supercharger on it. You get around 360BHP when properly mapped which in a 750kilo car gives you nothing short of explosive acceleration. I used to have a prep'd Yamaha R1 that I used on track and it feels similar to that!!!! The power to weight ratio just pips a Ferrari Enzo!

Ive seen Exiges with this engine but not S1 cars like mine so mine should be fairly unique.

Ive been out in a TT engined S2 Elise and the torque is immense (much better than the Honda engine) but the lag is not really good in a car used primarily on track plus the engine is heavier than the Honda one and this makes the rear weight bias even worse.

The Esthi car had an Audi RS4 engine tuned to something like 440 bhp! Its not a straight swap like the Honda but I bet it goes and sounds like nothing on this planet!!!

Its a real exige dilemma to me, buy a newer one like 111R or for similar total money (possibly less), buy an older one then get a transplant like the Civic engine and upgrade the suspension. I reckon the latter would be much more fun

Oh, and well spotted with my Esthi error  Imagine the weight at the back of that beast!!

I had the same dilema and now that Ive taken the plunge theres only one way to go - get a cheaper car and put the proper engine in.

The Rover engine is junk, never puts out 190bhp even in VHPD from and needs rebuilding every 30K miles. The 111R with Toyota power is a decent enough engine but youre looking at £30,000-£35,000. A great car but ultimately can be improved and £35K is a decent whack:

My route was:
S1 Elise £7,500
Honda engine £2K
Supercharger and fitting kit £8.5K
Nitron suspension £1K
Sticky R888's £400
Set of 160 Victory wheels (wider so take bigger rubber) £900
Total £20K-£21K and you get to scare Ferraris and GT3 RS's for fun and if you dont modify the badging etc they'll have no idea how you managed to smoke them!!! Now thats what its about.

If RS6 or 6+ brakes are used hard, the heat build up causes the discs to rib. This in turn causes the pads to rib and during this process you can get grumbling from the brakes. If the disks are slightly ribbed then they can be skimmed. However, if they are a bit undulating then new discs is the only option.

There is a cheaper way to a faster Elise .... buy someone else's modded car ! Saw a honda powered elise for £14k not a long while ago.

Grumbling Brakes

Just came across a bit of info regarding Tarox making custom built Grooved replacement brakes for a Lamborghini Murcilago at a significant saving on the OE items.

The article in question is on the EVO site and I thought may be of interest here to anyone looking for replacement brakes:
