Why is that then.... Are they giving it away?

There are 4 pages of B7 RS4s for sale on Audi's website. I'm not sure what benefit there is in posting cars that are avilable, when it is a buyer's market.

If you read .. I looked and looked ......

As you know you can't find out from Audi UK what cars are in the system.

By luck I found the car I bought from Peterborough Audi ..

So I see this helping out a fellow person who may be looking.

I doubt the 2nd car you list is available now anyway.

I would have thought that dealers would be able to see what cars are in the system that haven't been registered/paid for yet.

With the new price of an unspec'ed Saloon at £51k, and the Avant at £52k, you'd have to think twice about buying a new saloon. Autotrader has 69 B7s for sale.

they can't .... well not in my experience. Hence why this chap called me .. but as you can see I already 'found' a car.

This is Avant .. which are harder to find .. obviously as the weeks move on things change.

Plenty of used cars in the system and on trader that is true; not seen ANY new unreg cars in the system though as Andy says...
Did see a few used at about 47k now

I can not believe how many of these cars are available the RS4 for me is one of the best cars currently available - I am really surprised how many are on the market, can anyone shed any light on this?

I would be surprised if all of those RS4s on the market at the moment were bought by people who really wanted one, to have so many this early on sounds like a lot of speculators getting their fingers burnt and/or people who have to be seen in the newest and coolest car reagrdless of its quality. I do believe that some people who have been on this forum were just like that, 5 cars in 3 years I think one said.
Anyway for all those people who want to buy 2nd hand its only a good thing isn't it? If you buy new you are going to suffer no matter what. Its something I'm happy(ish) to live with.

I think the RS4 will stack up quite well compared to say the BMW M3. This figure is plucked from the air but I remember reading that there were 30,000 E46 M3s made in total, and the next generation M3 is likely to sell just as many.
Taking this into consideration the RS4 is a rare machine, your more likely to see an Aston Martin DB9
I bought mine in April, 6,700 miles later is still a fantastic machine, worth every penny and although I still have my deposit on a new M3, having seen the latest pictures in Car magazine I'm not impressed ( and it's not 4 door, and it's not 4WD)

PS where has the TMC link gone?, I was looking forward to the 22nd!

Anyway...I am very surprised too by the number of Autotrader for sales...I still have only seen one B7 RS4 outside of a dealership (maybe I'm just not very observant!).

I know from my dealer that there have been a number of cancelled orders which will undoubtedly be due in part to people trying to speculate...but far too late.

If you have a lot of cars in a few years does not necessarily make you a speculator or a hairdresser...it might just mean you get bored easily and always want a change.
