I would be surprised if its a corrosion issue, particularly given the temperature that the exhaust runs at. Although it is possible to have corrosion (more risk if its a low-miler city car), its Get the torch out time and have a look to see if you have caught and damaged the exhaust on speedbumps / road kill / Women & Kids / debris etc.

Most of the exhaust is simple job but the down pipes are supposed to be an engine out job, most aftermarket swaps like the Miltek full set-up are changed without engine out so it is possible, just a fiddly fecker. You can get a "used" exhaust relatively easily from a tuning house or advertise on here given the volume of people who have gone Miltek

Fingers crossed its just the downpipe to system gasket.
If its the turbo to downpipe gasket its a royal [pain] and as steve says
very tricky, and dealership may tell you its an engine out job.

Tuners may tell you otherwise, a possible route, would be a tuning house
and just get them to fit a mill tek system or part system while your at it :)

If your gonna tackle it yourself, you'll atleast need the car on ramps.

If you get it up first and get in about and feel where its blowing from first
before you start worrying to much,

This is the first ive ever heard of a RS6 getting a gasket or exhaust blow.

When the exhaust is cold, put your hand over the end and listen for leaks from the rest of the system.
I'd be surprised if it was simple corrosion, more likely damage as Steve suggests.

i will get it up on some ramps at the weekend, its only very slightly on cold

it seems from audi there are no gaskets from the turbo to downpipe and downpipe to centre section so hopefully it just needs a tighten up lol

cheers

just to update people, also regardign the fault code "air injector bank 2 low" & "egt error"

the car was looked at yesterday and the vacume pipes that go to the exhaust reserc things had totally warn away prob with heat etc anyway all replaced and so far seems fine no error codes and also this exhaust blow noise seems to have gone so result.

the car also feels more responsive which maby due to the fact its not loosing air out these split vacume hoses

cheers all
