I like the changes. top job, do you have the ability to put small thumbnails of the cars on next to the names?

Superb Phil

Very clear. It does lead to more forums, but perhaps over time, the less frequented ones could be amalgamated into one "Other S - Cars" forum?

I Like the short descriptions of the models too. What the heck was the Ur S4?

Cheers. Great job (IMHO)

Riz, you do like pictures, don't you ?

My take is it might overload the page (ie. 12 pics of different models) thus making it too slow for RTC (non-broadband) users, without necessarily improving navigation as forum names are now pretty straightforward.

How does it look now? I think we now have a forum for all S and RS cars.

To me it looks cluttered, but maybe I just need to get used to it.

Agree with you there mate, too much writing.

Maybe despense with the spec`s and/or shorten the production dates etc. 02 instead of 2002?

Phil ... you really don't need all that descriptive text and I don't think you need model years for all the other forums. Simply append "S4 and "S6" with the platform designation (B5, B6, C4, C5) and put the model year in the subtext, as shown in my example (click thumbnail below). Keeps things clean and orderly.

If you feel a descriptor is necessary for the different variants of S4 and S6, maybe put something at the top of the page *inside* each respective forum (like a locked thread at the top or something).

Fair point Rob, but the S4 (C4) can in two engine sizes. Hence why I did it that way. I wans going to include a post with details. Will try to do it asap.

Just noticed that breakout ... I don't think the UrS4 and UrS6 need be subdivided by engine. The models are otherwise nearly identical, same platform, shared chassis bits, mostly similar interior parts and body panels, etc. Yes there were two motor options (three if you consider the S6+ being a modified 4.2), but just as you wouldn't divide A3 or A4 message boards into every engine variant ... you needn't subdivide these. Know what I mean?

Oh ... and it appears you're missing the UrS6 (C4 platform) for model years 1995-1997 anyway.

And there was no S6 from '97-00 as indicated. Production of the UrS6 ended in '97 and the new S6 based on the current C5 platform was introduced until last year (as an '02, at least in the states).

Many forums now, for sure.

My only annoyance so far : even in 1280*1024 resolution, I have to scroll every time to see if there's any post in General and Registered forums.
Not that I don't care about the four different versions of S4 but...

My guess : if posts don't start picking up in a few weeks, we may see again
- S2
- S3
- S4 V6
- S4 V8
- S6/S6+
- S8

So we don't have forums with less than 10 threads floating around.

BTW : why not merge the Welcome and Problems Registering forums into a single "Welcome area and registering" ?
Just indicate "Guest posting enabled"

Hmmmm exactly. Took me the best part of a day to do this. Only 9 people had voted, and nobody helped by linking their posts so had to go through them one by one.

For this to work we need as much info as possible on every S and RS car ever made anywhere in the world.
