Looks stunning Andy.

Hopefully we will meet again soon and I will be able to see it in the flesh. This week will be going slow for you I think.

Looks fantastic Andy, it is the first Sprint Blue one with clear indicators that I have seen.
I look forward to seeing it in the metal.

Are there any changes for the 2007 model year?

Ace

I should have gone for a true RS colour instead of playing it safe, with black.

Nice car... It does look much better with the clear indicators and I do like the Avant's in Sprint Blue... having just switched from a Sprint Blue saloon to a new spec Daytona Grey I must say I prefer the grey, its more understated and doesnt attract as much attention as the Sprint Blue did.

Picked up today, so is home in my Garage safe and sound , LOL ... horrid drive from Peterborough back to Kent ... fog and foreign lorries ugh..

I was told one thing, if you start, you can't stop until the 7k warning goes off, OTHERWISE, 3 goes like that and you need new plugs -- any comment on this

Thanks
Andy

As far I figured so far the 7k just shows that the oil temp hasn't reached the minimum optimal, about 60 degrees, yet. About not stopping, i would hardly think it's true. I am very curious about who would make such a claim though :D

When I bought my RS4 the salesman also told me not to switch off the engine too often without the car having fully warmed up first.
The reason given was to prevent the plugs from fouling up.

BTW Nice colour - same as mine!
It seems like I'm that only one, but I do like the orange indicators.
Seems to make the car a bit more "interesting" at the front.

Hi Andy - yes there is some truth in what you have been told. Whilst the 7k warning is there the engine has not yet come up to temperature and the ECU is in start up mode. The softwsre for this mode is not perfected it seems (but who am I to suggest how the ECU is programmed), you will find that the running in this mode is occasionally lumpy, as has been commented on before. It seems like the ECU almost overfuels the FSI system as far as I can tell. As a result if you don't let the car reach temperature and go into normal running mode and switch off before, there is a tendancy to fowl the plugs. That is why the dealers tend to change the plugs at PDI, as you can be sure that the delivery drivers dealship staff would be the last people to pay any attention to advice such as you have been given. Apparently there has been a software upgrade that some have mentioned to try and alleviate this, your car may have this already, I was going to ask when mine goes in for service.
I have had one episode when the car appeared to be running on 7 cylinders for a short while, this followed a couple of short starts to move the car around the drive / garage. It quickly cleared by taking the car for a short run allowing full temp to be reached. It sounds like that may have affected djcevo the other day too - see his thread:
http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... ic&t=58186
Certainly now if I start the car even for washing and move it out the garage I let it run to get up to temperature if I can

Hmmm, I quite often have to do short trips in mine, i.e. from the driveway into the garage as the missus is too scared to put it in the garage (probably with good reason). I know its not ideal, but I'm not going to leave the engine warming up just to move it
