Fitted DTS

Post by s4gilly » Wed Dec 13, 2006 6:18 pm

Just fitted my AWE DTS, took it out for a quick spin an instantly notice a difference gear change feels a lot more solid, there is still a very small amount of movement when accelerating but not much.

It does sit a little lower but cant see it causing to many problems on speed bumps.

Took about half hour to fit and very pleased with results, just gotta sort out a short shifter now :)

Thanks reserves for sorting out group buy.

Good news

I still haven't got round to fitting mine, looking forward to seeing how good it is.

Maybe I'll get round to fitting my short shifter too!

I got the cheap one off eBay, had it for about a week but not really had a chance to look at it yet.

I've got the one off ebay. Had it fitted for about 6 months. Very good for the money IMO.
Hmmm, its fast but is it fast enough!!!

Got around to fitting the DTS this afternoon and the first thing i will say is how well it is machined thus giving a perfect fit.
Job took about an hour due to "clearing" out the threads in the gearbox, but other than that it was a doddle.
First impressions on the road are that everything now seems very well connected with a big reduction in the "sloppiness" that became more evident after the remap.
Power delivery is now much sharper and the short shift is now in my opinion as it should be. I can now move up and down the box much quicker than before and the "punchyness" of the gearchange/ box is more in line with the WRX PPP that i had previously.

Being new to S4 ownership and it maybe a silly question but where is the best place to put axle stands on the S4 when working under the car, is it close toi the jacking points, there doesn't seem to be an obvious place?
