Top Gear Audi S4

There isn't a GmbH kit for the S4, and although the RS4 GmbH stuff will fit, if you're paying top money (£1k) stick to the Konis or H&R coilovers that have been designed for the S4. Failing that, save a few quid, buy JR's RS4 suspension and treat yourself to a set of H&R antiroll bars and some powerflex bushes. [img]images/graemlins/thumbs.gif[/img]

The new S4 seems to be lower and stiffer than the old one from what I have seen and read, so will suffer less from understeer which is a good thing

Well guys, on the strength of that Top Gear report on sunday night, I got my arse over to my local dealer yesterday to arrange a test drive of the new S4 V8.

There was an Imola one in the showroom. To my eyes it stood fairly tall! When I popped the bonnet open, I was struck by the amazing compactness of the V8 engine.

It was also mounted well forward of the front axle- not a good sign, I would have thought!

The test drive planned for this weekend will reveal more. Really cant see myself in this car, but stranger things have happened [img]images/graemlins/gotmesome.gif[/img]

I'm itching to give it a good going over, but you are going to beat me to it! My local dealership have not yet put their demonstrator "on the road" and today they have put me back to next thursday [img]images/graemlins/piss.gif[/img]

Want to compare it directly with my (slightly) modded RS and told them so... just received a blank look back from the new sales "boy". Perhaps he thought I meant Ford? Seemed like it!

Words fail me... Still I should count myself lucky in their eyes, since I can have it for nearly a full day [img]images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]
