simple1 wrote:Its actually all very strange. Early this year I had to obtain an insurance valuation for my Sierra RS 500, to put it back on the road after 9 years of rest............I paid £19200 for it new in 1988, and the average valuation which came from various sources includung the RS Owners Club, was circa £18000, which aint too bad for an 18 year old dagenham dustbin with some added TWR............ :biggrin2:
Not too difficult to understand - probably less than 300 of these Tickford monsters left now. To improve on the standard 3 door Cosworth makes the RS500 a must-have on any petrol heads wish list.

Count yourself a lucky man.

Yes come on Simon, I'd love to see some pictures and hear about the cars history and how you have cared for it over such a long period of time. I assume it's a minter.

Having seen it, I know it looks good. Interesting to see how cars have moved on over the years. What we thought was cutting edge at the time soon looks dated.

Still a cool Motor though :rocker:

Will get myself sorted and post a few more, only one I have to hand is this.
Car has 60k miles on the clock, never painted or fettled, and is probably one of the few which still run the 8 injector manifold without using the additional injectors, so it still runs on four.

If you don't need the cash/space, then hang onto it! Have you started/drove it recently?

Not thinking of parting with it for now, never say never though. I drove it through the summer and it was amazing after not driving it for so long, how I was able to get a feel for the car almost instantly... bit like an old slipper.
