All M's are lush. One thing to remember though, no one is gonna let you pull out, I've been there.

Agree with you on the E39 but the E60 is utterley repulsive, those headlights.....and then you see the boot. Awful.

I dunno, when the E60 first came out I did have reservations about it's looks. Over the years it has kinda grown on me, especially in Black with all the M livery (non M cars). I'd love to go back to one. However in the 1.5 years of BMW ownership, I did find that not many drivers out there liked drivers of Bavarian beasts....it were as if they were always trying to get even.

I was lucky enough to be able to thrash an E60 M5 around Rockhingham. Did about five laps around a circuit ..... was okay but didnt feel anything special to me and IMHO the Mini Cooper S was much more fun. I suppose if I drove one on the roads I might change my opinion .... but on the track it just felt dull. Dont think the RS6 would be better though on the track by any means (more understeer and 4-wheel drive) .... but purely as a road car, I still think an RS6 (with a little help from a remap/exhaust) gives an M5 a run for the money.

Well 507 Bhp thru' the rear weeks felt downright awesome to me. WHen I tracked the RS it suffered from chronic understeer. I had a tutor for half an hour and he was laughing at the RS' understeer!

The E60 in a basic non-sport format is clumsy looking, but the M5 looks great as its been beefed up in the right places. Personally I love the look of the RS6 but the M5 looks much more purposeful.

Still loving my E39. The RS just cannot compare dynamically I'm afraid, either on road or track. However I appreciate that's not what everyone is looking for. I've been lucky enough now to own both and drive both on and off for a couple of months, and despite similar specs, they are like chalk and cheese. I'm definitely still too much into 'the thrill of driving' for the RS6, so it'll be going in the next 10 days or so.
