VAG-COM Suggestion - Decelerate Button

Post by DavidT » Thu Nov 16, 2006 9:52 am

So we can test our brakes in the same way as the Accelerate button tests acceleration :)

"I build my cars to go, not stop".
-- Ettore Bugatti

Now if you really want us to consider doing this, send us some logs of a measuring block group that has speed in km/h during full-on stops. More than one log. On different surfaces. From more than one car. From more than one registered user. That way we can play with the data and gauge how many people are serious about wanting this feature.

FWIW, the "Acceleration" function doesn't do anything you couldn't do yourself with the raw logs and Excel. The same would be true of a "Decelleration" function.

I am happy to do some logs, just let me know what groups.

Having the RS6 calipers put on today, just had a look at them, they are massive!! :D

UWE, when you say registered, what exactly do you mean? I bought the HEX-USB from vag-com.co.uk a couple of years ago, but don't remember 'registering' it as such ??

Any group that has vehicle speed (in km/h). That and the time-stamps which are intrinsically part of every log is all we would really need.

If you have a HEX-USB and don't know if it's registered I'll be glad to check. E-Mail me the serial number from the About Screen in VAG-COM. Uwe(at)Ross-Tech.com
