Absolutely, I bought my RS4 to drive and enjoy and that is exactly what I am doing. It is a fantastic car. If you want to wait 2-3 years to get a used RS4 so be it, I wanted one new and now :wink:

Friend of mine has been trying for 6 weeks to find an Avant with a certain spec that is ACTUALLY AVALIABLE ..... It's a amazing how many of the advertised cars actually can't be bought fo rone reason or another.

And by the way - all cars deprediate ..... but few go as fast, as capably and are as much fun!

OK OK........ :<beep>_you: I did want all black at the start..... glad I stayed with the standard wheels, but I still hate the bling mirrors, one day I will have enough time when an oven is free to get them painted, dont fancy stripping the doors yet which is the other alternative. :bigwave:

Does anyone know if the grille only of the black optics pack can be purchased from Audi and how much it is to buy. How easy is it to fit?

I agree - i don't think you can expect a high performance car (with a very few critical exceptions, like M1s) to be anything other than a money drain. at the same time, i've actually been slightly surprised by how WELL B7s are holding value, and also how well B5s have held on in the last 6 months despite the B7's arrival. both are doing better than i had personally expected they might!

that said, Cardiff Audi had (about 10days ago, not been back since) a couple of B7 saloons, phantom and misano. I don't know the mileage, or the spec, but the misano was 5quid under 50K. I think both were available for purchase immediately. if only i had more money ;) :D

I think the original post forgets that an RS4 is a halo car for Audi in that it shows what they can do if cost is no object rather than what they need to do to sell more cars.
The Renault Avantime for example was a white elephant and it was scrapped after a few months it was car renault thought would sell loads and simply didn't. The RS4 B7 on the other hand is just like an M3 or M5, the manufacturer doesn't expect to sell vast amounts but if it does its a bonus.
They aren't like M6s though where people realise their not getting much more for the extra pennies and so drop in price like a VW phaeton.

Not sure you can compare the Renault Avantime with an RS4. The RS4 will always sell as it's an excellent car, but too many are getting out too soon with too many sitting in system. It's becoming a white elephant to the dealers IMO, with some simply offering a derisory figure or refusing to purchase. I had the same with the V8 Vantage, so they've released a stripped out version and reduced manufacture of the V8 to bolster residual values.

There were atleast 5 differently specced RS4's at Milton Keynes Audi last weekend. Do you think there are so many in the show rooms because they are too expensive? Just a thought....

There were three reasons why I didn't buy an Avant (and I wanted one):
-At transaction prices it was £15/16k more than an S4 Avant - £5/6k too much IMHO;
-I have the memory pack on my S4 Avant - not available on the RS4 Avant for some strange reason;
-Fuel economy - don't care about it but I do care about the impact a 63 litre tank has on how often I have to stop, esp living rurally as I do.

I keep getting loads of calls offering me cars - you must be right.
