You could try Elite = elitreracingtransmissions.com, Tran-x or the really big players ZF and Hewland.

ZF make current gearboxes for Audi including ones in the S range.

What advantage do you see in doing it, out of interest ?

This is in anticipation for when I break the gearbox

Since I got this new clutch and single mass flywheel you can feel there is not a lot of give anymore and the next link in the chain is gonna be the box, plus, I hear they are not that strong anyways. Luckly since the saloon is a little lighter it should last a little longer.

The idea is, when it breaks I can replace/fix it with something stronger, I prefer to upgrade when forced to rather than replace with the same product you see…

S4 And Rs4 boxes are fairly reliable, sure they do break not often. Most outlast the car.

My experience of straight cut gearboxes, yep some improvment in frictional losses, but very noisy, too much for a road car.

Dog box maybe, yep full throttle gear changes. They need a lot of looking after not ideal for a road car again noisy, fragile and expensive.
