quattro gmbh suspension

I`m pretty sure that my S3 has standard S3 suspension.... but after looking at Paul`s pic..... mine doesnt look any different? is it because mine is older and its suspension has bedded in to its natural position or something else?

Below is a similar pic of mine and Paul`s S3 and i cant tell the difference?

Maybe his will sit lower once more mile`s have been put on?

Right if i remember correctly the standard S3 was 20mm lower than the standard A3 quattro suspension...... and on standard audi suspension.

The quattro GmbH suspension sits 20mm lower than the standard S3 suspension....

So thats 40mm compared to the A3`s suspension [img]images/rsul/14135-s3lows.jpg[/img] [img]images/graemlins/jawdrop.gif[/img]

Whats going on? maybe they dont lower it again by 20mm ontop of the S3 suspension? maybe they change the suspension parts to give a firmer ride?

Anybody got more S3 pictures with quattro GmbH suspension kit on?

The black one is definately lower than the red one....

i will try and dig out a pic later...

Black one feels tighter and more crisp... and even appears to transmit less road noise from the tyres (same tyres i had before)

I think the GMbH is stiffer springs , upgraded dampers and thicker anti roll bars... IIRC

My documentation clearly states...

AMD will fit it for you, but when i asked what the kit consisted of they didnt mention any ARB - jsut front shocks and springs all round.

I am checking for the part numbers with an Audi dealer.

how comes? my S3 came with factory fitted RSTT alloys and that was listed on the options invoice?

mines listed on the invoice, but its not the same codes as you would find on the accessories sticker in the service book or boot floor of car...
(ie so it must be an order code, as aposed to a "as fitted " code)

Riz, it may not look it from the last pic i posted, but having had both my Red S3 (standard) and Black S3 (Gmbh) side by side, there is a definate difference...

Yes i know i definatley havent got the quattro GmbH suspension, yep its hard to tell by the pictures....... but doesnt matter anyway, i was just curious as per usual [img]images/graemlins/colflash.gif[/img] [img]images/graemlins/tung2.gif[/img]

I'll check out the boot sticker tonight for the code.....
