Awesome - Specialist

Post by Marlon » Fri Oct 27, 2006 11:35 am

I've spent the last 5 - 6 months trying to find a professional, customer focused, reliable, well organised outfit to service/maintain my car in the North. Lets face it, I think most of us are pretty dismayed at the service the main stealer provides not to mention the cost for the pleasure!!

And at last I believe I've found one! AWESOME gti, off junction 11, M60, Manchester.

I took my car across last week for its 80K cambelt service, to say I was pleasantly surprised at the set up would be an under statement, clean, well maintained premises, pleasant/helpful staff, array of nice VAG cars parked outside etc

And of course the cost, for the cambelt service including all pulleys/tensioners, improved water pump with brass fins it cost me £515. They also confirmed that all parts and labour were guaranteed for 2 years for peace of mind.

Top job guys :D

I've heard a lot of good things about them too...

Bought an S3 cat back milltek system from them a couple of years ago.

Good service and very fast shipping.
An opinion is like an asshole, everybody has got one.

As far as I know, Audi original parts only come with a 1 year warranty, not more, not less.

According to all my invoices, "All Audi parts fitted are warranted for a minimum of 24 months. For more details please refer to conditions overleaf".

Its the "fitted" part that that could be the get out statement i.e. non-stealer fitted. However, I can't see anything obvious in the whole A4 page of small print on the back of the invoice.

It changed from 1year to 2years about 3 years back. I remember quizzing my local parts dept about the change on a sign they have above their counter. They said it was correct and didn't mention any catch about them having fit the part. Furthermore, the sign is above the retail counter. The techs and trade get their parts elsewhere. So here's hoping its correct :)

I think you'll find that european law says that all new goods now must come with a 2 year minimum warranty, which makes a mockery of all these outfits for other electrical goods that try selling "extended warranties" for goods which are already covered for the first 2 years, used goods have to have a minimum of 1 year if bought commercially.

if interested

I have had a long standing relationship with these guys going back over 10 years, right from the early days of the GTI era,

I have nothing but trust and total respect for all the staff that work & that have worked there "apart from one maybe" but i,m not gonna mention his name,

Having been to their new premises and seeing how far they have come over the past decade wasnt much of a shock as Jim still the owner i beleive has had a clear view of what he was after achieving since leaving Rawtenstall,

And one last addition, Jeff from just up the road at an-other establishment has recently joined the team at Awesome, now he does know his stuff.......

If you havent yet and even if your not local try them, and post your experience on here i,m sure you wont be dissapointed.
