Audi powered Lotus

Post by esthi » Fri Sep 01, 2006 9:02 pm

Hi,
I am a newbie on this forum.
I am the owner of the only Biturbo V6 Lotus Esthi ever made.
The car was made by Brandes Dchudow in Germany with a MTN tuned 425bhp Audi lump.
Whilst I am familiar with the Lotus scene I am relatively new to Audi power (although I do have a 1.8 turbocharged Audi engine in my Lotus Exige). Whilst the Esthi is a runner, it needs a bit of TLC. Can anybody please make recommendations/sources for RS4 engine workshop manuals etc and independant tuners?

   You own the Esthi Lotus car?????????
You have a unique car there  . Seen some road tests of your car when it was launched, it kept my attention and I even get in touch with Esthi at time. The price was high.
In one of the tests they were trying to reach maximum high speed on a Oval circuit with several high tuned Porsche and other cars, and the RS4 Powered Lotus had some cooling problems, Esthi owner stated he would make some mods to have it proper tuned to the RS4 specs.
Power to weigth ratio is from another world, and I´m sure it must be a hell of a car to drive.

Would you care to share with us some of your owner experience together with some pics of the "beauty beast"

Esthi is now registered, taxed and insured. For those interested it is a 2.7l BiTurbo V6 and tuned by MTM at 428 bhp and all up weight is 980kgs. Goverend (tyre limits) top speed is 205mph.
One thing that is bugging me is that the radiator fans kick in at 78-80 degrees and operating temp appears to be 81 degrees. Seems rather cool, I am more used to 85-87 degrees for high performance engines.

....but surprisingly docile with the engine switched off.
Seriously though, it has to be treated with respect regardless of the weather. To its credit, it does have a lot of rubber on the road and a 63-37 weight distribution.

PMSL! I would expect the engine covers to be left on, of course, to retain some dignity...
