From what I hear, the buiild quality of the AM leaves alot to be desired, and the service is not too clever either. One of my business partners bought one last year, to date he has had it for a total of five months, the rest has been spent in the garage, or in transit to and from the garage...... believe Mr Tonoga had similar experience..
As for common, it proves that the cars are at least reliable, when you keep seeing them on the road :<beep>_you:

Anecdotally, I have seen far more AM V8s in London than I have RS4s....and I drive around London a lot. I guess it all depends on the area. Abundance of Fezzas (F360s and F430s) and porsches also. I'd have an RS4 over an AM V8 for a multitude of reasons...more practical/reliable/better made/better performance. If you're going to get an Aston...DB9 for me I'm afraid.

Disagree totally. Aston is a better looking car undoubtedly BUT build quality/reliability is not even close to Audi RS4 standards , and how did you calculate that the V8 in the Aston (380 bhp) is better than the V8 in the RS4 (414bhp) ??? (both normally aspirated).
Am buying a 360 to complement my new RS4 soon and I think that it will be as reliable as various friends' Astons!!

The RS4 is a great car. Astons are great cars but come on guys, you can't honestly try and compare them against each other....

Too common? Come to Mayfair, London. I see plenty more Vantage's than RS4's.. beautiful car, just be careful you don't get keyed (my friend's was) and good luck with the quality woes..

V8 Vantage - A Car they held back on, so that it wasn't too good....

RS4 - A Car Audi put a lot of hours and thought into...and came out with a masterpiece... 8)

I think what Virtusos2 is really trying to say is that the problem with the RS4 is that it is based on mass market volume car, Whereas AM only produces three cars at the prestige end of the market (albeit with Mondeo switchgear).

Thus if you're driving an RS4 the rest of the world will think you're in a £17k family runabout,

I can see this is not really an option for anyone with a James Bond wannabe fixation who has more money (or access to an attractive lease plan) than automotive knowledge.

Agree on the exclusivity. I've only ever seen two RS4's in the flesh whereas AM DB9's, Bentley Conti GTI's, Vantages etc are ten a penny.
