bought a S3 x reg few wierd quirks

Hi hoping this site can help me out.. got a couple of little problems

problem 1: the traction light comes on sometimes and randomly when driving and i cant turn it out? but will go away if i turn the car off and start again. the switch works fine as if i want to to turn it off or on i can.

Problem 2: The petrol flap doesnt lock. is it an easy fix?

apart from that the car seems great is there anything i should look out for with these?

ESP(traction) light should only come on when driving for a split second and that's only when you are going hard round a corner or losing traction from a standing start.
If there's a fault (could be Haldex control unit, one of the various ESP sensors etc) then when the light comes on, you aren't able to turn it off with the button.
If it flickers it's fine, if it's on solidly you need a diagnostic check (VAG COM etc) to see what's at fault.

As for the petrol flap, it should work with the central locking - doors locked = flap locked (unlike Mk4 Golf which has electric release), if it doesn't lock it's probably the actuator but I personally wouldn't worry about it.

cheers for that.. got another annoying thing happen the other day locked my car fine then after a day at work went to get in the remote locking/unlocking stopped working now the central locking and eletric windows and pretty much everything door related has stopped working on both sides. aaarrgghhh

ive checked the fuses there all ok altough the interior light one ahd blown replaced that now. im taking it back to the garage.
