I'd probably go further than that David. My experience is there is good and bad people to deal with in nearly every dealership.

Yes and much fairer than my statement.

Some good points posted referance my question, however I do not see a potential problem with a diary of events being posted on the Forum as they unfold and helpful advice or questions could be via a PM. I mention this as some members with problems such as this may benefit for the experience of forum members rather that going it alone.

I agree with MCB. Everything I have suggested here is no secret and does not go against any thing legally (as far as I know).

As with MCB - I want everyone to witness what steps have to be taken to essentially get the service we deserve. I have not mentioned dealers names etc, so I am not directly slating anyone. I give credit where credit is due & I hope at the end of this I have a happy result & those who helped me achieve my results are thanked and publically recommended for anyone in the future suffering similar circumstances.

David - if there is anything that you feel is inappropriate please contact me and we can have it removed. I am sure you (or others here) understand the lagallity of all of this far better than I do.

I dont think that David has any issues with what you have said, he is just offering advise to prevent your appeals going tits up.

Good luck with it all and let us know how you get on.

I think you will get stuffed re your claim unless the warranty company agreed to cover a chipped car. I think they are going to say chipping shortened the life of the turbos so they wont pay out.

I purchase my old S4 from an Audi dealer, it was also chipped at the time of purchase. I also had problems with warranty work, the dealer even registered it with Audi for warranty purposes as a 1.8 Avant.

This dealer also went out of business

At the end of the day I bought it as an approved used car with a warranty. The sales rep I dealt with ensured me the car would be covered regardless of its state of tune & that they would not be selling the car otherwise.

If the warranty company reject it then it is down to the dealer that sold me the car/the new dealer that owns the customer base of the old - that is where it will get tricky.

Leon, wasnt your car quite low mileage? What was your driving style? Do you think thrashing about alot on chipped K03's mean its just a a matter of time before they blow?

I enjoyed driving the car yes, but never abused it, it was warmed & cooled, I had just had it serviced (Wonder if that had anything to do with it?) - who knows what caused the failure and it does not really matter.

There is no progress and it is very frustrating. I will save posting anymore till I have a resolution.

who serviced it and haven't you been having strange noises for some time now leon.. maybe its just bad timing that the turb's decided to fail around the time that the service was done..i'm sure your not pointing the blame at anybody and i wish you well in sorting this mess out ..

When you described your turbos as making a loud screaming noise, I think it was a sign!

Possibly was, but it did that from the day I bought the car. And it was intermittant & nothing at all like the noises the turbos make now. *sigh*

I had the car serviced by my local dealership about 1.5k ago, they put mobil 1 in the car, so really should not have affected it I shouldnt think. I just have to be patient, let Audi sort the politics of who is responsible for the work that is to be carried out, then get them to foot the bill. Currently Audi CS want to establish that the car was chipped & had an aftermarket exhaust when I bought the car. They obviously cannot contact the old dealership as the Audi staff moved to the new dealer. So it is a grey area as to who is responsible. I think it is the new dealer, but we will see what happens.

It will get sorted I am confident of that. It is just a waiting game till the dust settles & the owner of the problem is discovered & they do the work. Why the hell do things like this have to be so political. At the end of the day I bought an Audi effectively from "Audi" and it was an approved used car (Which of course Audi advertise are considered "as new"). I may as well have saved myself 2k and bought private/from a private dealer. I specifically went to an Audi dealer because of the trouble I had with my A4 2.8 quattro and getting warranty work carried out by a 3rd party warranty company. I thought as it was an Audi warranty now I was fine & could just deal with my local dealer. Boy was I wrong. What a nightmare. Needless to say I will never recommend or purchase Audi Approved again - there is no benifit.

That is exactly my view after a similar experience, I wish you the best of luck.
