S-Line

Post by MarkB » Tue Sep 19, 2006 12:42 pm

Please don't shot me down, but would the site ever open up to S-Line cars?

I know they aren't in the same league as the S and RS models but they are still a sporting option from Audi.

Over in the US the S-Line 2.0T Quattro seems to be the car/engine of choice for tuning, many people not liking the large capacity normally aspirated engines now being fitted by Audi

I currently own a B5 S4 but doubt I will replace it with a B6 or B7 S4 for the same reason as above...

Correct me if I am wrong, but S-line is soley body and visual mods, no engine improvement, so would not really have a place here. Trouble with this would be that we really start to dilute the origins of the site, and although it may well increase traffic on the site, it may not be of any benefit or relevance to it......

The thing is... I agree.

If I, in the future, downgrade to a mere S-Line I'll just have to lurk :sekret:

S-Line, never. Sorry, but I blame the S-Line for the dilution of the S and RS range.

I agree, and I've lost count of the number of times I've mistaken a B7 S-line for a new RS4... :audibash:

I almost posted near enough the same Clive. I'm not anti S-Line, but I frequently mistake them for S/RS models at a glance. The whole idea I guess.

I also have to double take at the s-line models - have to end up looking for s-line logo on side!

Yes, it can be very distracting trying to read the S-line/RS4 badge but, as Simon suggests, easiest job is to wind your window down and listen for the V8 purr... :kissmyrings:
