Tuning options for the B7?

Post by rs4-sson » Mon Sep 18, 2006 7:45 pm

Since there are no turbos, what are the options for horsepower upgrades? IIRC, wasn't there someone who offered a supercharger kit to get to 700 BHP ( 8) AmD maybe)? Or am I dreaming? Are there Miltek exhausts etc?

Presumably silly money anyway right?

700HP?!?!?!? Yeah sure dude....is santa your uncle?

Never believe that kind of BS,a S/C on the RS4 V8 will bring the output to 520 HP MAX...

:bigwave:

Why?
Maserati GranTurismo GTS Auto, S3 Sportback, TT2 3.2 Roadster, Disco3 for the heavy stuff.

Various rumours of 20+ bhp from Miltek, ECU upgrade will give another 20 ish............. and the most an SC will give is about 30% uplift without serious internal revamp...........

I never said I believed it, did I? It wouldn't be the first time we've heard outrageous power hike claims from lesser known tuners (AmD excepted of course). Just wondering whether one would have to spend the price of the car again to get even a modest power boost.

So what do you want for Christmas then, I'll see what I can do......

If APR can do this http://www.gmpperformance.com/index.cfm ... s&CID=5585 for an S4, then it may not be too far off for an RS4 (with maybe a wet shot of NOS as well), could it now?

Spoke to Kim Collins at QST the other day and there has already been a SC kit developed in Germany by MTM for the B7 RS4 in conjunction with an exhaust system, the car has produced 580 BHP, this kit will be available in the UK in Jan/Feb I think. They are also talking with a warranty company to give people reassurance ref the engine/gearbox etc.

MTM in Germany spoke to Audi when they were developming the SC kit and Audi said that they think 580 bhp will be fine without internals being changed and so far with a lot of Testing has proven that reliabilty is not an issue !!!!!!!!!!

KIT and exhaust is approx £15,000 though.

What's the power curve of a supercharged car like? - never been in or driven one..

lots of low down power, but get a bit weezy higher up the revs, merc V8 amg only reved to 6500 and had long run out of puff by then....... not too sure how a SC will cope with 8000 rpm :biggrin2: having said that, SC technology has moved on much like turbos with vari geometry screws and other toys.. BUT i am not spending 15k :bash: :bash: other half would have my balls crushed in a vice if I did :sekret:

That's going to be hard to hide - The supercharger is awesome you would be better off just getting an RS6 at least you will have full Audi Warranty.

The RS4 with SC would be in a different league to an RS6+ (with warranty) 258 BHP per ton. RS4 with SC is 351 BHP per ton( same as Murcielago). 381 for the Merc SLR......

u crack me up! :biggrin3:

The only info SKN gives on that page is that the kit makes 520PS and 520NM torque. I could give them a call if you like and find out more. Sometimes its quite handy to have german roots. Not on a England vs. Germany footie match BUT when you drive a german car....*LOL*
