There are quite a few combined units out there now. Road Angel Navigator, Tom Tom 910 to name but two....why not pop down to your local Halfrauds? I've just bought he TomTom910 but haven't had it long enough to pass comment.

As Rob says. I have met Steve Warren and he's a top guy.

I'm not taken by any of the combined units - as I feel mostly the case with combined equipment - they do both jobs, but do not excel at both.

IMO the origin B2 was the choice pick camera detector, think it still is. I have a Road Angel, good camera database, but would go Origin if I were changing as it's modular and integrates better.

Bought the Snooper Indago combined unit a few weeks ago and have been fairly impressed with it so far - the unit looks good, and seems to lock on to satellites no problem.

I have the Nav Plus system in mine so was just after a speed camera detector. After doing a bit of digging around, I bought a new Origin B2 Solo off ebay for £175. The ongoing costs are £50 per annum for camera database downloads, but you get 6 months free when you buy one new.

The difference between the B2 and the B2 Solo are that the Solo has it's own integrated stubby GPS ariel and is black rather than grey. TBH, I decided to order the GPS aerial that you get with the non-Solo unit as the Solo unit didn't look that good on top of the dash (which is whyere you would need it to get good satellite reception. I have now relocated it just under the right hand centre vent and it looks good.

The unit also comes with a laser detector and you can add a radar detector behind your grille for around £150.

I think Origin have a new product coming soon (in the next few weeks). I'm waiting for that to replace my Bluei, based on the general view that the B2 is still the pick of the bunch so the new one should be another worthwhile step forward.

And on the Origin B2 (and Solo) you can have the whole display as a very large digital speedo, which is cool, especially on track days. Assuming that it's faily accurate (albeit very slightly delayed), it shows up the 5% over-reading inaccuracy in the car's speedo. When it detects a camera, it automatically switches from speedo mode, and then switches back after the camera.

My RoadPilot Pro has been doing all of that for almost four years. I wouldn't want to be without it now. One of the 'fun' aspects is that it logs your speed/position every ten seconds. The data can be downloaded onto your PC and, with the aid of the automatic link to MapQuest, you can track your progress through all your journies.

That possibility has crossed my mind, yes! :|

I guess that if I'm in the 'right' I might offer it as evidence, if I'm in the 'wrong' I might just lose it!

Ive just got a Mitac mio a701 GPS PDA phone; 140 grammes, with sat nav not far short of audi OEM in specification, and downloaded cameraware for £19.99 from MoDaCo, no annual subs. Seems to work great and fits in a shirt pocket!
