oil changes chipped cars
is everyone with chipped cars having more frequent oil changes?
Re: oil changes chipped cars
nope
10,000 miles
Should be OK unless you are giving it large all the time
The quality of engine oil is good these days
Although i decided to do !0k service intervals instead of AVS, up to 19k on same oil, no thanks

Can't beat a bit of boost!

I'm chipped and running AVS. Don't really 'give it large' that much, honest.

Re: oil changes chipped cars
Changing it every 10,000.
But also topping it up on a regular basis, cos running at 120o C tends to burn it.
Cheers

I had my oil and filter changed at 6K miles - I'm still on AVS though. Sort of surprised you turbo nutters havent changed yours before 10K

Mine's not chipped, but I change my oil, and pants every 5000 miles.
I think it's a good idea especially considering the problems S4's can have with turbos etc..

I do mine every 5,000 with fully synthetic and new filter. I also slick 50 (performance version) every 20,000. I do all my own car maintenance so I can afford to change things more regularly. Bosch Platinum plugs are changed and the K&N is cleaned every 15,000.

Re: oil changes chipped cars
Audi's top UK (ex)technician (many here know who I mean) recommended changing the oil and filter every 5000 miles.
Sure, you can probably change the oil only every 20,000 miles, and the car will be fine. Or maybe the turbos will need to be replaced at 60,000 miles. Was it just bad luck, or was it the slightly too viscous oil causing excess wear? You'll never know.
Are you prepared to risk your expensive car or would you prefer to play safe and give the engine the healthy oil it deserves? After all, for such an expensive car, an oil change is not that expensive, and so quick and easy to do.
