Its the same story for just about every 'in demand' car over £30k. With the scare story over on Pistonheads about dodgy drafts it puts sellers off selling privately as well.Sutters wrote:They are not selling at premium and Audi no longer have a list of potential buyers, looks like those that wanted one have them or have ordered one. Seems no one wants to buy privately as I think everyone wants the security of the main dealer thus if I do sell I am at the mercy of the traders..they pay £48.5 K and sell out straight away for £52K the buyer gets a car £1.8K under list and I get a slap around the face with a wet fish and for everones guide its a lot more than 4.5% drop now!! TRY nearer 10%

I had this trouble when i sold my Range Rover Sport, contacted a few traders, all offering silly prices with one guy offering me a 'firm bid' of £32k, for an 05 8k miles RR Sport TDV6 HSE!! Ended up selling through a nice guy Ian at pacific leasing for a strong price as they had a client lined up for it. Ian is a member on here, am sure he will let you know if he wants to take your RS4 off your hands.
One way of facilitating a private sale on an expensive car such as this is to be in a position to offer finance to any potential owner and to take a part ex, you can offer finance by contacting a private vehicle financier of which there are a few around, and take a pex get the details and simply swap it in at the garage that you end up buying your replacement car from, try and do this all simultaneously to not get lumbered with a heap of junk and get it valued up by the trade in pex for something and just offer that price into the person buying your car. Isn't all that tricky and helps package your car up as it would be at a showroom, with the backup of Audi warranty as well.. thats the theory anyway!
