Car kit - bluetooth or hard wired?

Apologies for re-opening an old thread but it seemed to be the most relevant.
I've just bought a 2000 S4 and it's got a Ericsson car kit hard-wired. I'm not sure if it's wired into the Symphony head-unit, I assume the only way to tell is to try it.

Does anyone recognise the car kit (apologies for the quality of the picture) and know which Ericsson phones it's compatible with? Also, is it possible to change the cradle without changing the whole kit? Or am I basically trying to flog a dead horse and I'd be far better taking a trip to see CraigyB (whereabouts are you?) to get the whole thing changed to a Bluetooth setup?
