Fitting aftermarket headunit to B5 S4

Post by kylewc » Tue Aug 15, 2006 7:01 pm

I have a B5 S4 (2000) which has a Bose Concert system. The system itself is awesome and I have no complaints whatsoever. In my previous car I had a Poineer AVIC-X1, which in case you don’t know is an all in one DVD, SatNav, TV all singing all dancing thing. I miss it loads and want to fit it to the car.

I have read loads on different forums about fitting aftermarket headunits onto the Bose system and they all seem to contradict themselves. Some say that its not possible to fit a headunit to the Bose speakers and that they need to be replaced, which is something that I really don’t want to do!

I have come across this:
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/index.p ... 92_294_670
They do the loom adaptor (for Bose) and the facia adaptor too.

Surely that would do?

This is the unit i want to fit:

Also the unit comes with a 'brain' that id need to tuck somewhere. any ideas on good places?

Thanks!

Kyle

A warning in advance, the facia adaptors are crap IMO, they leave too much of a gap...
