what laptop for vagcom purely?

aha, after reading ross-tech's site i realise why i am not getting any luck it is k-line short, i had an aftermarket radio put in 2 years ago well before i even tried vag-com, obviously after reading that my harness adapter is the old style so i need a new style can i be recommended a new style make or manufacturer or a link, what have you guys with ICE used?

just searching caraudiodirect.com and came up with these
