Road Angel

I have just invested in a Road Angel.
Does anyone know what the jack plug socket is for in the laser censor.
Has anyone got one fitted in their RS4 and can advise the best location for the unit.
I was thinking about hard wiring the power supply any suggestions on that one.

I haven't got the laser detector as I bought mine before they were released & I haven't got round to getting one yet. My RA unit lives in the bottom right of the windscreen, sitting on the dash. I got a 12v power wire (the longer, non-curly one supplied with the RA) on a switched supply routed up from under the dash to that corner and I velcro it in place so it's visible in use, but easily removed and tucked in the pocket under the right hand side of the steering column, leaving a farily anonymous black wire sticking out in the very corner of the windscreen - almost invisble against the black interior from outside.
