Well fletchie55 & I had a look...
The guy was open about it being accident damaged. The ad clearly says HPI registered. It is category C write off.
I have pics of the accident now.
The repair job is shoddy. The pass door does not shut right and the dash is pushed inwards. The A pillar seems bent (Hence door not shutting properly). The front end is all a bit manky, there is quite a bit of trim missing from the enginebay, covers gone etc. Even the dash did not sit right, loads of trim not fitted properly, the satnat unit sitting out. The passenger airbag cover lifting slightly. The thing is ropey as hell. I personally may consider buying it if it were 5k, no more.
On the possitive side the car seems to have been chipped and drives surprisingly well. The usuals need to be checked - MAF etc, as it did seem a little hessitant. But it was smooth, steering possitive and it was okay.
There will be no history with Audi UK as the car is a parallel import so would never have been registered on UK Audi books. The only way is to contact the co that maintained it. All the manuals etc are there - but no service log... very suspicious. If he has the folder then the service book should ahve been there so I think it prob didnt have full history anyway.
Good to see you again Joe, man it felt good to drive my car again after the other S4. Realise just how fast it was!
Anyone live near Newton Abbot in Devon?

think you just about covered all the main points Leon.. except the strange whining noise coming from the front of the car when slowing down, the missing fog lights at the front, cracked rear cluster, split TBB (lots of oil), and broken/not working light washer jets.
High spec car and cheap for a reason, you usually get what you pay for and this would be no exception! if it seems too good to be true then it almost definately is!

Thakyou, thankyou, thankyou!!!!
What a brilliant forum, you have save me an 8 hour round trip plus the costs and hassle asociated with that.
When I spoke to the seller he assured me that the car had been repaired to the highest standard - so at that price I almost jumped on a train with the cash (thank god I didn't).
Once again thanks to ZeroK66 and Fletchie55.
The search goes on!

Crusty... you would be best off spending 9-10k on a well maintained car owned by an enthusiast on here. They are always coming up! Honestly worth the extra cash!
A good example is Mik's S4 avant. Pre-facelift. But with just about every RS4 part you can think of and 400bhp/460lbs/ft maintained by MRC and well known on here - for 10k its an absolute steal!

cant agree more, I thought I had got a bargain with mine, and it is proving to be a good buy, but for just £2k more I could have got one that has already had all the future mods I have planned already done which will save several £k parts and labour and fuel for trips up to MRC etc Look for one on here thats been looked after by someone that knows the car and has had it serviced at specialists, modified or not it should be better than one that has been looked after by a non-enthusiast and Audi all its life! I know its hard when car hunting, but patience will pay off in the end!
