Footmats

Post by LHD » Sun Jul 23, 2006 10:08 am

Does anyone know if S2 footmats will fit in the RS2? I need a new set of mats and don't really care what's written on them as long as they fit and have the holes for mounting.

Failing that anyone know where I can get a set of mats from? I've tried Tots and his website contact form doesn't work and I don't think he sends them anyway (I understand why now if he has to go to Germany to send them as Vas said!)

LHD are quite different to RHD ones as far as I am aware.
S2 ones fit fine, the rears are bigger on the avant than the coupe though.
Martyn at VAGParts.com used to have a supply of these. Otherwise try ebay.de

Thanks, vagparts don't do them anymore and when they did were RHD only, as you say different patterns.

My concern was that there appear to be two different type of S2 coupe engine codes requiring different mats due to the transmission tunnel. One type I was hoping someone might know is the same as the RS2.

what i did was take the RS2 logo mats from ebay(payed around 50euros for them, but i see they sell higher now). They dont have the holes made to fit the pins on the mat,but that is not a trouble, since you can just produce a small hole on the mat to secure on the pins. Then since i didnt want to use them all the time so not to ruin them,i took them to a place where they make house mats, and used them as patrons to make new mats for the car.Payed 30 euros for them!!

LHD,where are you located?Im in Greece but if the shipping costs are not too high i can have some made for you and send them rapped to you,

Thanks for the offer Vasilis, I'm in Nederlands but I think I'll go for a set off ebay to start with and maybe take you up on your offer later.

Did you get these ones?

If so I might get a set and make my own mounting holes.
