There's a good chance that may overheat at low speeds :)

That is great.

Lots of work getting the intercooler in.

I'd be scared to drive that, what did the K-series make 190 bhp and about 130 ft lbs of torque, now he has around 400bhp and 320 ft lbs :FIREdevil:

the Lotus Esthi never made production (pics are over 2 yrs old) - it didnt make sense at £80K + ! ...and it made it toooo heavy - 380-420bhp and 1000Kg ....you could buy a Noble M400 and achieve the same objective for a fast track/road car and have £30K spare for a 2nd hand RS6 Avant ;).

They made 2 prototypes (incomplete) which were up for sale about 6 months ago ...a lot of hassle although if I had the time/inclination it would of been a nice project to pick up ....

Most people who want a fast Elise these days put the 1.8 4 pot Audi turbo in there and tune it to 300-330bhp or a 2.0L Honda K20A with a supercharger for 300bhp ...this keeps the weight down to 800kg ish and still gives you enough straight line grunt to see off pretty much anything you will meet on the road :)
cheers

why what? ;)

why would people put different engines in an Elise ?....simple - more power and more reliable...the beauty about the Elise is that its light and very cheap to run. So make it as fast as any Ferrari/Lambo/Porker etc in a straight line, and you have a car with the performance of a supercar that costs £80 for a service, with cheap brakes, tyres etc, fuel economy - best of both worlds :)
