On the emails, There are a couple of options:

Jeremy Hicks is the Md, so you could use either:

jeremy.hicks@audi.co.uk or jeremy.hicks@vwg.co.uk, or of course Martin Winterkorn who is the overall boss of Audi. His email address is martin.winterkorn@audi.de

Spoken with Audi today who confirmed that TMC is currentley being rolled for only A6/A8 models at an additional cost. There have been a number of problems with new upgrade on all cars accept these models, West London Audi confirmed that they expect availabilty around September but have confirmed that I can purchase now although may not work "Thanks Audi" - It does not seem that they will be offering free of charge as they are charging A6 & A8 clients - hope this helps

I calling my dealer today see what I can get only had vehicle 2 weeks, whilst typing email I have been on phone. Apparently the charge will only be about £100 which will also include new updated maps, I can live with that!

Hi Nick sorry I use S4 B7 Cab, I did not think there would a difference ssems Audi have mades things really complicated with there cars. why?

Is it the case the the RS4 needs some UK specific hardware enhancement or is it, as I've read, purely a matter of Audi not licensing TMC for the UK and if they do just providing a TMC licensed DVD?

My TMC worked lovely once I crossed the channel last week although she did keep nagging about slow traffic too much at one point.

It's a licensing and software issue.

Audi UK have to pay a licensing fee to either ITIS or TrafficMaster, they've chosen to pay it to TrafficMaster.

The software that decodes the TrafficMaster TMC data has been proven on the A6/A8 MMI system, all that's left is for Audi to port that software from the MMI to the RNS-E (as used on A3/A4/S4/RS4 - no functional difference) and test it. Then they can roll it out UK wide, in the same way as they have on the A6/A8 i.e. a software update DVD and NO new hardware.. There's no technical reason why they don't get off their backsides and just get on with it.

The cycnic in me says it's Audi UK Marketing types playing silly so-and-so's and "differentiating" between the A4 and A6.

Only if us UK owners make it less painful for them to do that compared to the effort of continually having to tell us why they haven't/can't/wont do it.

The more we hassle Audi UK the more likely we are to get TMC working in the UK.

In emails and letters to customers who have written to them Audi UK are saying it won't be before April 2007 at the very earliest (they've been saying "6 months time" for the last 2 years) - so I'm not sure I believe your dealer ...
