Hi 2nd post hope this is the correct forum. been looking at various threads, need some advice guys..
What model is mine reg 10/05 55 plate is it a B6 ? or is it a B5 with the shitty brakes

Concerned about comments on fuel consumption, what u reckon ill get

top up with oil? on a long run surely not, even though its a V8

any basic mods I can make to it

Actually B7 on a 55 plate. Fuel consumption depends entirely on how you drive it. Mine's a bit better on average with the AMD stage 3 tuning but it ranges from 5mpg when driving like t'was stolen to 23mpg on a sedate motorway cruise (a rare beast, usually only partaken with my son on board). Average for me is about 18mpg, but that's with a lot of London driving included.

These cars do drive a bit warm so you'll need around a litre top-up of oil every 5k miles or so, again dependent on how you drive. Just watch the brake fluid levels as you'll get a loud beep and a warning light when the level goes down slightly, particularly on cold days. You'll find that your exterior temp guage always shows warmer than it actually is, it's just a design fault, you're kicking out a lot of horses and heat so it affects the probe under the bumper.

I'd personally get it fettled by AMD but enjoy it standard for a while first, it'll be like getting a new car when you get it tuned. Shop around for insurance though - Greenlight are excellent, especially for a modified car. Enjoy.

Good advice, wee bit disapointed with consumption, hopefully not notice it too much on pocket. I only drive around 10k pa.

What oil is recommended..and who is amd do they have a website
