TMC feature on SatNav
a. Why not? Customers unhappy with Audi, I'd have thought they'd jump at the chance. After all I have read many more less interesting rants in their letters pages, and why shouldn't it appear in the 'From the Forums' section that they run every week?
b. The publication is irrelevant, send it to The Times motoring section then. It's not about where it appears, sending it to the press is just a way to reinforce the fact that people are serious about their complaint. If there is the slightest chance it would appear in print, Audi are far more likely to act on it, or at least reply.

Perhaps I'm missing something here, but the very first paragraph of the very first letter of the very first Autocar I picked up from my pile reads:
"Both the BMW M5 and M6 are amazing technical achievements, but I wish that they were both lighter, had manual gearboxes and ditched all the electro trickery."
Chris Harris on the next page complains that the SAAB 9-5 is the "silliest looking car on sale"
Then of course there's Jezzer Clarkson. Are you saying he would never bad mouth a car in his Suday Times column? That's all he does. All the time.
So I can't see the difference. A publication will publish ANYTHING if it's interesting enough, especially if they can hide behind the public and merely report on their dissatisfaction.
"Audi recieves several complaints over TMC failure on RNS-E interface"
Is that an impossible headline in the motoring press?
Anyway, I'll sign it, deluded or not.

Strange thing that.......... and not the case..... none of the motoring press would touch the 'bendy wheels' story for years, even after Audi stated the 'safety feature' function of the soft wheels. I think it was Evo who first published the issue and that was in January 2003, almost two years after the first reported issue.bobjebb wrote:

.
I dont expect Audi to do anything about it what soo ever, the function is present, does not legally oblige them to have it working though....

Well, I just flicked through this month's (August of course) Evo, and there's a review of the RS4 B7 Cabriolet...
"Quickest A4 loses its roof - and its composure" - that's the headline.
It goes on..."the interior vibrates on anything but the smoothest of roads"..."it seems as if the extra bulk (195kg) hasn't helped stiffen the body too much anyway, as there's still plenty of wobble"..."the deeper you delve into the driving experience, the more disappointing it becomes"...
Oh, and guess what - the only car manufacturers to place full 2 page ads in this month's edition were Audi and VW...
anyone want to bet that they withdraw their support next month as a result of this poor review...?
I'd be astounded if they do - it's objective reporting, just as they do with every other car.
Drop Harry Metcalfe, the Editorial Director, a line - I'm sure he'll be interested in the story.

If you get a letter together, I'll make sure it gets to the right person(s).... Deal?
There has been some discussion re the Evo article as it is a stock image from Audi, people are wondering if they have actually been near an RS4 Cab at all...
