how did you manage to blag a spin in one of those? bet the petrol bill was horrendousMike_K wrote:can't beat Concorde for outright speed, but I did get a ride in a Tornado F3 and had 750 knots (about 860 mph) on the 'speedo' at a height of about 50 feet over the sea.
Yep you make me sick. Did about 450 in a Hawk a few times. Went vertical but haven't a clue what the speed was as my face was glued to the artificial horizon due to the G force. Never beaten that sensation since.Mike_K wrote:can't beat Concorde for outright speed, but I did get a ride in a Tornado F3 and had 750 knots (about 860 mph) on the 'speedo' at a height of about 50 feet over the sea.

So there we were travelling at 14 miles per minute with a visual horizon of about 3 or 4 miles (15 seconds ahead) and all of a sudden a fishing boat appears directly in front......... sh*t too late and you've just dropped a 'boom' on some poor chap. I wasnt the driver but Ive felt pretty guilty ever since
much more pedestrian 250km/h (155mph) in the S4 on the A3 in Deutschland
