Wind noise?

Post by rs666 » Sun Mar 26, 2006 5:52 pm

Got a B7 A4 Avant atm whilst my calipers are being replaced on 6.

Can't help notice how loud the wind noise is over 70mph.

Any RS4 B7 owners experiencing this? Or is the engine noise too good?

RS4 B7 is very quiet wind noise wise. Even at 70 or over. Obviously the engine noise is sweet :jump:

Just test drove a Saloon RS4, first thing you notice on the motorway is wind noise. This is my first drive in any Audi, it makes my old M3 sound and feel like a Roller

Wind noise?

All I hear above 60 is Engine! Whats sort of wind noise? Are you refering to air in to the car through seals and vents or exterior and that the car is not aerodinamic enough?

try switching off the climate control alltogether and you'll notice the difference. I guess not ideal when 30 degrees outside but worth experimenting with....

It is the climate control, switch between vents, it does make a difference, save having to turn off completly.

If you turn the climate so it is only firing forwards and down the noise disappears completely, just a bit of a design fault on the A4.

Daz, why not try putting the roof up - there's always wind noise with the roof down

It's not just the leather. Any one else nearly burnt by touching the gearstick (silver coloured top) after the car has been parked in the sun for a few hours?, ouch

Oh yes I got the burnt hand to. I am not sure putting the air con and leaving the car to run whilst the seat cools down is a good idea!
