Problem with central locking

Post by WILL22 » Sun Jun 25, 2006 11:42 pm

Hi, new to here and RS4 ownership but not Audis.

The alarm keeps going off and vag-com is telling me that the hood(bonnet)switch is setting it off as the switch is faulty.

Question, where is the switch? For some reason I can't find it, probably because I stupid.

BTW great site here.

Thanks in advance.

Will

News to me that the B5 RS4 has a bonnet sensor. I've never seen one around the usual area these thing are. But it could in around the hinge.

it's built in to the bonnet catch in the slam panel, you can just see it down the gap where the bonnet hook goes, follow the wire and you'll see it

Found it thisevening, have a new switch on order.

Wasn't the most obvious place for it, on my other cars it's a pin that the bonnet closes down on.
