Hi,
I have a 90k mile RS4 and have owned it for 5 months and cant fault it.
Been lucky so far as i havent had any problems, (touchwood), i bought the car in January without a warranty but i only occasionlly use the car, done 5k miles.
Been looking at warranties and got a quote from warranty direct, they have have 2 versions, "drive line" and "standard", cost varies between £670 and £850 per annum.
Which would you advise as it appears the clutch is covered on the more expensive policy but not the other?
Also, is there anyone else out there that might be better value or more comprehensive?
or
Should i risk the car not giving me any problems, will do bout 8-10k miles per annum max.
Cheers
Stuart

RE: Warranty Direct
Hobson's choice really.......... £850 will not cover too much in the case of a major failure...... on the other hand, if it has got to 90K miles, it has probably had most of the items that will be needed, replaced already and you could have 20-30K troble free. My car has done 68K now and I elected not to take out any form of warranty in the vain hope that nothing will go wrong as it has had all major items attended to over the last five years.
RE: Warranty Direct
There are a few threads about Warranty Direct on the tt-forum.co.uk - they also talk about another company called Warranty Online - I dont know if one is better than the other though.

RE: Warranty Direct
I used them for the first year I had the RS2 78K. Everytime I tried to claim they countered with 'wear and tear'. I eventually got a contribution to propshaft bearing failure after been asked to shop around for a 'cheaper one' (they came as a single unit from audi) and after lots of discussion re bearing failure. Again it was named in the policy as covered but they said 'wear and tear'
Save your money and put it aside to cover looking after the car

RE: Warranty Direct
Or alternatively pay more money for a totally belt and braces no quibble Audi/Mondial warranty. I've never experienced any quibbles whatsoever in claiming on mine.
