Kerb Scrape Repair??

Post by SteveH » Sat Jun 17, 2006 6:05 pm

Can anyone advise or recommend where I can get the scrape below polished and painted, brand spanking new alloys (although to be fair they have lasted a while) and I kerbed the damn NSR  , ironically when parking outside the Porsche bodyshop  . They kindly did a quick coat of silver paint for free to seal the scratches but would prefer to pay to get it done properly.

Dont really want to do the whole refurb thing as the alloys are new, just this small scrape to contend with. What do you reckon??

£50 at your local alloy wheel refurbisher should do it Steve - a good one will make it look like new.

Sorry, I dont know anyone in the Notts area.

You risk it coming out a different shade though if you only do one alloy - need to do at least both on the same side?

Have a look at Chips Away. They may do alloys but you are down to how good the local franchise is though....

I have checked the old yellow pages... Will call a few local "top marque" dealers to ask who they use, only want it "locally" repaired (just the mullered bit) and not the whole alloy. Doesnt have to be perfect, just a bit better than the current mess.

Shame on you

A decent repairer should be able to make a near invisible repair

Sorry Dave  Although you would have been proud yesterday, followed all your tips to clean to perfection and then used the Megs quick detailer for the first time, looks immaculate. Go to Canada shortly and when I'm back I'll be after some of your wax.

You haven't come across any decent repairers on your travels then that you can recomend???

@ Steve - I don't know of any local to Notts wheel refurber's, I've posted my recommendation (3 or 4 threads down) for top notch total refurbs establishment. Probably too far for you to travel to. Shouldn't be difficult to repair your damage though.

@ Bob - Johnsons Baby Bath (blue bottle) not shampoo, or with any "make your baby sleep" all night additives. Drop me a mail to jacbox@blueyonder.com and I'll mail you copy.

Dave
