Has anyone fitted an oil catch tank to collect oil from the breather system and prevent it getting into the intake tract? if so could you post type of tank, location and does it work??
Thanks

RE: oil catch tank
I want to know this as well. Anyone?
(seems like a good mod to increase ignition timing)

RE: oil catch tank
dont think it,ll work cos the oil breather system is connected to the f hose by way of the spider breather and if the spider breaks it induces a boost leak..so the oil catch tank would have to be a sealed system then you would have a build up of crank pressure..nice thought though

there is a one way valve after the f-hose so there is no mainfold pressure in the breather hose!
I've got one from ebay UK and its located behind firewall. there are some writeups in the AW right now go have a look. You can either use the org breather spider or make your own but I will suggest you use all the original connection points and put the can just before the outlets and after the PCV.
I dont have pics of mine though but search AW for plenty of pics.

it might work that way too, but that PCV has some pressure/vacuum limiting function (selfstudy guide) and iirc on AW someone suggested it would be bad if the can was after it?
the hoses come apart from that pcv with a knife (I have a new spider and I just pulled the hoses apart) so you can try it in both ways if you like. Bew carefull if you spider hose is old as it becomes very weak and brakes from bending. If its already that weak you would be better of by replacing it as its hard to diagnose a leaking spider hose.
