Sad times. :( You need to do what puts your mind at rest and that of your family.

Its a very personal and individual decision.

Best of luck and take care

Thanks for all your comments.

Dealer friend of mine said for God's sake don't advertise it privately, you'll get all types of scum bags coming to rip you off in lots of ways you don't even know about yet, give it back to the dealer.

So I'm stuck with a car all the theiving bastards want, which I can't advertise for fear of being ripped off.
Turning out to be a great ownership experience.

How about asking your dealer nicely if they will let you use their premises to conduct the sale? Ie only meet potential buyers there, during working hours. Even better get a large mechanic with a big tool to come out with you on any drives. Tragic state of affairs, good luck

Dealer wants the car and is coming back to me with figures. I'll keep you all posted because I'm sure you'll all want to know what they're fetching second hand, as this is probably the first one to be sold on.

I'm expecting that, but we'll see what happens. I don't want to make any money, I just want rid of the car with minimum hassle, at a fair price.

Have you called Fontain? they may buy it.

2K is not bad, you hear some Porsche horror stories of nearer 7K in little over a month.

thats better than what i expected. I would try and get them to up it a bit, if not take the offer, its easier than trying to sell it privately and getting lots of tyre kickers and people just wanting to have a look at the car!
