Cheapest and best mod yet.

Post by boxerdogted » Thu May 11, 2006 8:50 pm

Going on advice from this site i decided to replace my DV's with 710n's just as a matter of course.
As i have only had the car for three weeks you tend to get used to how it drives and take it as being normal, how wrong can you be.
The car now drives superb, no more light throttle and overrun surging.
I pulled the old dv's apart only to find that both diaphragms were split, i suspect that they are the original ones (710A).
So it is £40 and 30 minutes time well spent
Thanks for the info.

a mod thats just as good is the after run pump mod..you change the coolent temp sensor just under the expansion bottle and it keeps the fan on when u leave the car..cools the turbos and the oil in them and circulates the coolant around the engine..better than sitting there for 10 mins ticking over after a hard run..

I'd be interested in the after run pump mod too. Is it an easy install?

Hi guys, this mod is very sraight forward all you need to do is remove the three screws that hold down the expansion tank and lift it to one side and locate the switch which sits in-line of the plastic water pipe, my old one was green on top in colour and the new replacement which i got from mrc is blue. It is then just a case of sliding out the plastic clip disconnect wiring plug and pulling out the sensor(probably a bit stiff as will of undoubtably been in there from new). Then just clean the area and replace with new sensor and 'O' ring, whole job should take no more than 15 mins. You will notice that fan and pump now come on after a 'run' rather than a race!! Cant take credit for this mod Doug from mrc suggested it.

Hope this helps

15-20 mins work....£14 worth of parts from a main dealer. Will work your battery though so if its not tip top it won't last very long. However batteries are much cheaper than turbos!
