Well thought I'd just share my experience of this Audi event...the good points first
- seemed well organized, nice hospitality very convivial not at all stuffy/snobby
- S8, Q7, audi formula cars present. S8 looked nice will post some pics later
- Q7 was, er well an SUV. Took it out for 20 mins on the roads, nice kit not for me though
- Had several RS4's present all being driven round a very short twisty tarmac course (quarter mile)....but this is where it all went WRONG..
On the previous day (first day of the event) a couple of chaps smoked the clutches on 2 of the RS4's

, hence it meant that Audi stopped people driving the RS4's. As you know here in the US automatics are the default transmission and the manual nature of the cars seemed somewhat challenging (shall we say) for the chaps in question, combined with an overzealous assessment of their driving capabilities spelt disaster. I only found this out after I started giving the organizers grief about my wasted journey and the misrepresentation on customer time driving the car.
Got taken around by the semi-pro drivers a few times in mitigation and the car felt balanced and certainly more nimble than the B5, sounds good too. Although interior differences compared to Europe/UK have lessened the impressive nature of the interior of the car. Let's just say the front seats are for shall we say.......more substantial individuals
Let's see how Audi and my local dealership deal with this one.......do they want my business...only time will tell....
